(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 04 May 2012
Release date- 02052012 - Paris -Atos Worldline, which brings together Atos core expertise in hi-tech transactional services, has been selected by the France Televisions, the leading broadcast group in France, to design and develop the new interactive service for TV show C dans l'air, using HbbTV technology.
Atos Worldline is enabling France Televisions to offer viewers an enhanced experience with an innovative interactive service accessed through the television itself.
The France Televisions group has selected Atos Worldline for its expertise in developing interactive HbbTV services for connected TV. Since the first HbbTV-enabled connected TVs became available, Atos Worldline has been actively collaborating with television channels, editors and manufacturers to build innovative interactive solutions and services for television viewers and surfers. Atos Worldline designed the Smart TV Solutions concept to offer turnkey solutions for connected TVs and set-top boxes. Thanks to its media expertise, the group is supporting France Televisions' strategic commitment to innovation.
As a European first, since 10 April 2012, viewers with an HbbTV-compatible connected TV can enjoy this new interactive service directly via their television. They can interact live with the show, voting on the 'Question of the Day', following the results in real time, and sending questions to presenter Yves Calvi and his guests. A further innovation allows viewers to watch the five most recent C dans l'air shows again, along with their corresponding interactive broadcast services. As a result, France Televisions is engaging more closely and interactively with viewers while also offering them an enhanced television experience.
'Atos Worldline is very pleased to be supporting France Televisions in this innovative project. Our experience in interactive multichannel solutions enabled us to offer France Televisions a high-end service that is smooth and intuitive to use. We aim to make this service the benchmark for connected TV services in Europe's audiovisual landscape,' states David Barlet, Operations Director, Media Sports & Games at Atos Wordline.
About France Televisions
Since 2011, France Televisions, France's leading broadcast group, has been committed to an ambitious digital development strategy to better meet audience demand for new applications. Connected TV is very much a part of the current digital revolution. It is not simply a television connected to the Internet, but a new way of watching television. The televisual experience is being fragmented, enhanced, consumed in any place, at any time, and shared with strangers, friends and family. France Televisions is heavily involved in the development of connected TV and is driven to have a presence in all available platforms. The public service broadcaster's latest innovation is the launch of the first European application of connected TV using the HbbTV standard, for live and repeat broadcasts of its daily show, C dans l'air, on France 5.
