Government of Canada Announces Appointment to Telefilm Canada
OTTAWA, Nov. 13, 2012, 2012 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) --
The Honourable James Moore, Minister of
Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced the
reappointment of Michel Roy as Chairperson of Telefilm Canada for a
term of five years.
"I am pleased to announce that Mr. Roy has agreed to continue to serve
with distinction as Chairperson of Telefilm Canada," said Minister
Moore. "His extensive experience in public administration and his
proven leadership skills will continue to benefit the Board and
Telefilm. His commitment to the film industry and his vast knowledge of
arts will continue to be an invaluable asset to the organization."
Mr. Roy was first appointed as Chairperson of Telefilm Canada on October
12, 2007, for a five-year term. He was previously a management
consultant in the private sector, prior to which he had worked in the
Quebec Public Service since 1970. The positions he held included Deputy
Minister of Tourism, Deputy Minister of Communications and the Quebec
government's delegate in Chicago. Mr. Roy holds a Master's degree in
Public Administration from the Université du Québec.

helping the Canadian industry to face the challenges of the future,"
added Minister Moore.
