West county briefs: Ventura

Feb 28, 2013 (Ventura County Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Ventura Film will show teens staging 'Our Town' The Ventura Film Society will screen "OT: Our Town" at 6 p.m. Monday at the Downtown Century 10, 555 E. Main St.

The feature documentary follows students at Dominguez High School in Compton who stage Thornton Wilder's "Our Town" without sets or large props.

Tickets are a $10 donation for general admission and $7 for seniors and students.

Chamber orchestra to play at festival The Ventura Music Festival will present the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Ventura High School Theater, 2 N. Catalina St.

The chamber orchestra will perform with cellist Alyssa Weilerstein and pianist Inon Barnatan.

Tickets are $35, $50 and $65.

Library to provide free Internet course E.P. Foster Library will offer "Foster Basic Training -- Doug's Five Step Method for Navigating the Internet" from 11-11:45 a.m. Monday.

Participants will learn how to log onto the Internet and perform five necessary functions for a successful Internet search.

The free class is open to the public.
