Best Buy, Canada's fastest growing
retailer and etailer of consumer electronics, is launching its
Electronics Take Back recycling program in Quebec. Beginning March 1,
customers in Quebec can responsibly recycle their end-of-life
electronics - including TVs, media players, monitors, computers and
peripherals - at any local Best Buy store, up to a maximum of two items
per day, no matter where they were originally purchased. Customers are
asked to drop off their electronics for recycling at the Best Buy
customer service desk during business hours.
The fourth province to take part in Best Buy's Electronics Take Back
recycling program, Quebec joins BC, Alberta and Ontario - all of which
have launched successful electronics take back recycling programs over
the past few years. Best Buy has partnered with the Electronic Product
Stewardship Canada's (l'Association pour le recyclage des produits
électroniques ARPE) Quebec division to operate the environmentally
responsible and regulated recycling of the electronics received from
customers. All recycling is handled in Canada.
In 2012, together with Future Shop, Best Buy Canada recycled 5.8M lbs.
of electronics, 175,000 mobile phones and 45,000 lbs of batteries.
Best Buy is proud to provide a responsible solution to customers looking
for solutions to recycle their end-of-life electronics. The Take Back
program is a natural extension of the small electronics recycling
already available to customers within every store in Canada.
