mopay's Mobile Banking Platform now Supports HTML5

With HTML5 gearing up to be the new standard of code to create desktop and online applications, mopay, a company known for its innovative payment solutions for online merchants, has upgraded its mobile banking platform to support HTML5 services and games.

By opening up new ways of integrating media into website and Web apps with no additional plug-ins, HTML5 is being considered as the hottest cross-industry trend for online companies worldwide.

According to Gartner’s (News - Alert) latest report, HTML5 is expected to solve various cross-platform issues and also help web apps to steal a march over native apps by 2015. It gives entertainment providers tremendous opportunities.

"HTML5 is an opportunity for online entertainment providers to consolidate consumption, and thus monetization, no matter what platform the user is coming from," said Kolja Reiss, managing director at mopay. "In online gaming and entertainment, mobile devices have always played an important role in offering a simple and widely available payment method. With HTML5, they also become gaming platforms and streaming devices themselves. mopay is the only mobile payments provider to complement HTML5 games and media offers with an HTML5-ready and device-optimized payment solution on a global scale, guaranteeing the optimum user experience."

According to mopay, extending support to HTML5 features has made the mobile banking window more efficient. Its automatic carrier recognition and interactive wizard makes it easy for consumers to make the payment experience hassle free. The added ability to display size, language settings and country-specific rules and regulations enhances this experience.

As a result, mopay stated that it is well positioned to extend its payment platform to every device, regardless of the platform the user is coming from or the carrier that is being used. This facility is available in more than 80 countries worldwide.

Many leading companies have begun leveraging the benefits of HTML5 and its demand in the online and gaming industry is gaining traction. The promise of a holistic experience across all devices, Internet browsers and operating systems makes it a powerful tool for web developers, content providers and the entertainment industry as a whole.

In related news, in an effort to continue to charge forward in the mobile banking race, today Tyfone unveiled its iCashe(TM), a new mobile wallet and eCommerce engine that for the first time delivers purchasing power through any mobile banking application.

iCashe, built completely on top of Tyfone’s award-winning u4ia mobile financial services platform, is the industry’s only service to blend comprehensive mobile banking features with convenient consumer purchasing, gifting and loyalty programs, according to company officials. Coupled with Tyfone's SideTap(TM) microSD secure element technology, the new mobile wallet also allows consumers to enjoy contactless NFC payments and a high degree of secure identity management.
