The 1.0 release of jqMobi is an improved version of its predecessor, expected to accelerate the development of HTML5-based mobile apps, fix bugs and tablet enhancements elicited by the open source community, according to company officials.
jqMobi has been welcomed by the mobile HTML5 development community with over 10,000 downloads, 80 "forks" and over 500 watchers on its GitHub repository.
There are three libraries in the jqMobi HTML5 mobile framework: jqMobi, a fast query selector; jqUI, a touch-based interface library for WebKit browsers; and jq plugin, a plugin to manage these browsers.
When appMobi first released jqMobi, it had 30 APIs of functions and event support. Version 1.0 doubles it, and is slightly larger than the beta version.
jqUI hasn't changed much in size but has broadened its color options. It works seamlessly on iOS and Android tablets, and is just as fast as the first version.
Said Fueled Media Developer Michael Bryne in a statement, "jqMobi could not have been released at a better time. As my first foray into mobile application development, jqMobi allowed me to get my app up and running in record time, with a full feature set and rock-solid one-of-a-kind support from the development team. I cannot recommend jqMobi and jqUI enough!"
Recently appMobi (News - Alert) also announced public beta availability of playMobi, a cross-platform HTML5-based game development, deployment, and monetization SDK.
