Appland Store, a Swedish SaaS (News - Alert) Android app store, announced that it will be available for licensing for partners across Europe. The app store uses operator billing in order to benefit users, with the SaaS Android app store being live in Sweden for the past six months. It is now offered to other partners in Europe.

In a release, Jonatan Redvik CEO of Appland said, “Appland provides technology, competence and operational services for partners that want to benefit from the growing content market.”

Appland has collaborated with telecom operators TeliaSonera (News - Alert) for optimizing the platform, which is expected to give added value to operators, wholesalers and retailers.

The Appland Store additionally enhances the partners’ delivery of services to users on their smartphones, which provides a strategic edge, letting them gain from in-store campaigns, partner presence, business intelligence and in turn higher revenues.

The Appland Store specializes in delivering premium content that is relevant and secure, along with delivering optimized apps. Local apps are promoted via apps such as “My Facebook (News - Alert) Friends” and “Apps Close To You.”

The delivery of such solutions is simplified by the re-use of the user’s operator registration, which ensures that no registration thresholds are set for buying apps, explained officials.

Appland AB has entered lucrative partnership deals with noted telecom operators TeliaSonera and 3, although it is in operation for only 18 months now. TeliaSonera and 3 participate in marketing activities for Appland.

Partner operators market Appland to their users via their own websites, social media, and sales representatives in stores, as well as incorporate brochures and pre-installation in Android smartphones.

According to Appland AB, it is a perfect complement to Google (News - Alert) Play; it will be easier for products to reach the charts while cost-effective marketing in a Swedish marketing channel. It also offers the ability to geo-tag (News - Alert) and categorize the app by city.
