Newer, Faster Firefox Android Browser Enters Google Play Arena

Firefox's new native Android app has just been released into Google (News - Alert) Play, Google's new version of the Android Market. The new interface is said to start much faster than the older versions of Firefox that users have been experiencing delays with. Before this release, Firefox started slower than Google's own web browser in Android (News - Alert) phones. Now, with new improvements to the code, Firefox will start significantly faster than other browsers.

Of course, speed isn't the only thing that the new Firefox interface has to offer. Now, with Firefox's new interface, supporting HTML5, you can enjoy syncing desktop settings and saved passwords. This is a result of Firefox’s attempt to enter the smartphone market. The "Awesome Screen" feature also allows you to easily find your most visited pages through a new and improved home page. OK, so its HTML5 rendering is a little fuzzy, but the beauty of its buttons and tabs make it a much more classy selection than other Android browsers that have been recently updated.

Firefox is now built using a benchmark known as Eideticker, which ensures that the browser will be twice as fast as the one that Android originally comes with. Startup is very instantaneous, and everything you do on it is smooth to the touch. You don't even need the latest hardware to enjoy it.

If you want to view websites properly, though, you will have to install the Phony 3.2 Firefox add-on, since many websites still interpret the Android version of Firefox as a desktop application. This makes websites show themselves in full on the phone, making navigation a headache. Also, another disadvantage comes in the form of tab navigation, which now requires two taps instead of one to switch between open pages. The previous version of Firefox required but one single tap. Still, with HTML5 rendering and very smooth operation, Firefox is a very powerful app that every Android user must have. The application has already entered Google Play, so you can go get it!
