Viewbiquity's Tom Shafron to Present Best-Practices and Lessons at DevCon5

Tom Shafron, managing partner and CEO of Viewbiquity (News - Alert), a provider of open-source cloud-based machine-to-machine (M2M) platforms, will speak at the DevCon5: HTML5 and Mobile App Developer’s Conference next week in New York City. Shafron will present “Building APIs for HTML5,” discussing best-practices and lessons learned from the creation and launch of the Viewbiquity Cloud Interface (VCI) M2M connectivity platform.

VCI is an open architecture M2M platform service. The Viewbiquity cloud provides reliable connectivity, application control, device configuration, automated database logging capabilities, inherent redundancy and backup. Its client interface is the customer-facing portal that gives users instant visibility into a monitored and controlled business processes and activities via the Internet. It enables a single Network Operations Center (NOC (News - Alert)) to manage multiple sites and monitor the network performance while supporting multiple devices, applications and resources.

Presenting on Tuesday, July 24 at 11:30a.m., Shafron will draw from his own experiences as a successful developer and entrepreneur to provide attendees with concepts and tools to help them navigate the development of a successful product from concept through the often challenging final touches.

“The Viewbiquity platform provides an ecosystem that innovative developers can use to create M2M applications which fill a myriad of business needs,” notes Shafron. “VCI leverages standard data structure models, such as those defined in HTML5, providing developers with a complete set of tools including code libraries, data objects and flexible APIs. With these powerful tools at their disposal, developers can concentrate more resources on the differentiating features of their applications and less on foundational functions.”

VCI is a cloud-based, open-source M2M platform that delivers a highly-flexible environment for integrating core business processes, such as energy management, environment controls, voice and data communications, facilities management, point-of-sale and other types of sensor device monitoring. VCI provides a fault-tolerant and highly reliable platform for users, yet through JavaScript APIs, enables simple creation and customization of operational profiles and applications.

“We are excited that Tom will share his knowledge and experience as a successful developer of highly innovative platforms and solutions,” said Carl Ford (News - Alert), partner and community developer for Crossfire Media, and conference chair. “HTML5 may ultimately be the great connector for all devices and APIs to work in harmony, so I appreciate Tom's insight into the market. His experience and passion creates an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn about the realities of HTML5 development.”
