Ludei's Cloud Compiler Navigates Obstacles in HTML5 Apps

A little over a year ago, HTML5 was touted as the end-all for app developers, but later ran into rough weather when it was found that it didn't handle the challenges of distribution and cross-platform development as well as was initially thought.

There are just a few compelling HTML5 app stores in the world and paying for two or more mobile development teams can strain the budgets of small app developers.

However, there's good news for HTML5 game and Web app developers. Ludei, the makers of the premier HTML5 mobile game development platform, has reportedly introduced its Beta Cloud Compiler that claims to offer support for any HTML5 Web app, not just games.

"This is big day for Ludei and for mobile developers. Our Cloud Compiler is the first in a series of new cloud services that we'll roll out between now and the end of the fourth quarter that use the Ludei Cloud to simplify the process of delivering and monetizing HTML5 games and apps," observed Joe Monastiero, president of Ludei.

The Ludei Platform consists of CocoonJS, CAAT, the Cloud Compiler, and Launcher for iOS and Android (News - Alert).

CocoonJS provides the performance boost necessary for the animated game experience. HTML5 enhancement APIs provide access to unique hardware capabilities, and the CAAT game engine helps accelerate time to market, while the Ludei Launcher offers on-device testing and simulation.

And Ludei's latest release, the Ludei Cloud Compiler, takes a standard HTML5 app project and converts it into a hybrid native app that can be compiled in a few minutes and distributed to the most compelling app stores.

This also claims to be the first offering from Ludei that includes support. Hence, developers can build their apps in any Web development language and the Ludei platform converts these projects into native apps.

"If you read the analyst reports, they all seem to agree on one thing -- Hybrid native apps are the future of mobile computing," added Monastiero.

Also HTML5 developers can now make HTML5 performance gaming a reality for game developers and publishers eager to deliver apps to the Apple (News - Alert), Ludei or Google Play app stores. There are about a dozen apps that are currently using this new Ludei cloud service.

So will the promise of HTML5 cross-platform development become a reality with The Ludei Platform? Will the creases of distribution be ironed out?
