Gizmox has included new security features in the Visual WebGui (News - Alert) enterprise HTML5 platform.
The platform now includes sophisticated access control features allowing developers to set form-level security permissions and integrate directly with Active Directory and LDAP.
“From the beginning, the Visual WebGui platform supported enterprise-class application security,” said Itzik Spitzen, Gizmox CTO. “Expanding access control features with form-level security will let enterprise developers, architects and IT managers think more strategically about how to securely extend the reach of applications to a broader audience.”
Enterprise developers can use Visual WebGui to build HTML5 applications by using tools such as C#, .NET (News - Alert), and Visual Studio.
Gizmox claims that thin-client, HTML5-based applications can provide very strong security as compared to native applications.
The company notes that a large number of developers today are turning towards HTML5 to build enterprise B2E web and mobile apps. It advises IT managers to integrate HTML5 platform with centrally managed access control technologies like Active Directory to implement a security program that can scale with the proliferation of new business applications.
Gizmox provides an HTML5 platform for bringing business applications to mobile and web – rapidly, securely, and using existing development resources.
In December, it launched Visual WebGui Version 7 that boasts a new mobile feature set, an assessment tool designed to analyze legacy desktop apps, and integration with Microsoft (News - Alert) Visual Studio 2013.
This new version also includes a Business Server that delivers the scalability, performance, and security required for enterprise-class applications.
Last year the company named Eugene Kuznetsov as CEO and closed a $7.5M round of financing that was led by Atlas Venture and included investors Citrix, IVC, Consolidated Investment Group and others.
These funds were used to build and staff the company's headquarters in Boston.
"As demonstrated by its success with major customers, Gizmox's technology is unique in the rapidly-growing enterprise mobile market,” said Michael F. O'Connor, Consolidated Investment Group. “We are excited to participate in this financing to support the next stage of Gizmox's growth."
