Kony Solutions Launches KonyOne Platform

Kony Solutions, a mobile platform provider, has recently launched the KonyOne platform with complete HTML5 support.

KonyOne is the only platform that enables a single application definition to deliver both native applications and mobile web across phones, tablets, kiosks and desktops.

It provides a secure, scalable and extensible mobile middleware runtime platform that can be seamlessly integrated with existing services.

In a release, Raj Koneru, CEO of Kony, said, "At Kony, we believe the future includes native, mobile web, and HTML5 hybrid or ‘mixed mode’ applications… Using the KonyOne platform, developers are able to use a single code base to create optimized applications for any device, operating system or browser. They can create native, mobile web or HTML5 applications or any combination to achieve the best individual user experience."

Officials said that the new platform offers true native support for all seven operating systems along with simultaneous support for the mobile web. It also supports various key HTML5 updates like HTML5 Elements, Touch Specific Features, CSS (NewsAlert) 3.0 Specifications and New JavaScript APIs.

According to Gartner Research Director Michael J. King, "We’re beginning to see HTML5 browser and standard fragmentation even prior to the standard’s ratification. The native device platforms are also beginning to differentiate themselves with all kinds of different physical and software form factors, and that rapid pace of innovation negates the ability for the standards body to provide standardized access to every feature. As such, it’s important for companies not to think of HTML5 as an ‘either/or,’ as it will be important to support both native and web-based deployment models."

For a further enhanced user experience, Kony also provides Single Page Application support. Single Page Applications provide local rendering of the user interface and user experience, by generating markup on the device, delivering consumers with a feature-rich experience with less latency.

In related news, CIBC, a North American financial institution, selected Kony Solutions to develop and deploy its mobile brokerage app, released in July on iPhone, BlackBerry and Android (NewsAlert) devices.
