DevCon5 Heads to New York with Hands-on HTML5 Experiences


Premier two-day HTML5 and Mobile App Developer’s Conference starts July 23

NORWALK, Conn.—July 17, 2012—DevCon5 – the premiere hands-on conference for HTML5 and Mobile App Developers – kicks off on Monday, July 23, 2012, at the Kimmel Center in New York, TMC (NewsAlert) and CrossFire Media announced.  Held over two days, DevCon5 allows developers to dig into the code, see applications come to life on the screen, and network with experts and colleagues.

Wayne Lee, director of engineering at Qualcomm (News Alert), will present the luncheon keynote session on “The Future of Mobile Computing” on Monday, July 23. Lee has been working on mobile OS platform software for the past 10 years: BREW, Windows Mobile, Linux, Android (NewsAlert), ChromeOS, WebOS. He now works on developer outreach and provides tools to help mobile developers create more powerful and compelling applications on mobile platforms like Android, Windows RT, and HTML5.

On Tuesday, July 24, David Kaneda, creative Web technologist, will deliver the luncheon keynote on “Designing for Mobile.” Kaneda is a designer, developer, and consultant based in San Francisco. He was previously the creative director at Sencha, where he worked on the company’s brand and HTML5 framework, Sencha Touch, and created jQTouch, a jQuery plugin for mobile development, before that.
