DevCon5 Embraces Large Attendance Numbers in New York

Premiere two-day HTML5 and Mobile App Developer’s Conference deemed a success, looks forward to Austin, San Francisco venues this fall

NORWALK, CT – July 31, 2012 – DevCon5 – The premiere hands-on conference for HTML5 and Mobile App developers wrapped-up last week, with a high attendee turnout and cutting-edge content sessions contributing to the conference’s success, TMC (NewsAlert) and Crossfire Media announced. Capacity crowds flocked to New York City for the two-day conference, giving speakers maximum impact as they presented the latest updates in HTML5 and mobile applications technologies.

“The intensity of the information and the insights gained at DevCon5 put our delegates and speakers ahead of the marketplace and prepared them for the next wave of mobile app development,” said Rich Tehrani (NewsAlert), CEO at TMC. “Special thanks go to Kaazing, our Event Sponsor, and AppMobi and Viewbiquity, our Gold sponsors for the event.”

“It’s been an amazing year in development and growth of HTML5,” noted Carl Ford (NewsAlert), Partner and Community Developer for Crossfire Media. “HTML5’s impact on mobile applications is going to expand by an order of magnitude in the next 3 months.”

“We’ve supported the DevCon5 shows for some time now and the New York show was another great one for us,” said Roy Smith (NewsAlert), vice president of marketing at AppMobi. “The attendees were very interested in the cross-platform opportunities we discussed, and the networking our team was able to do has resulted in two new design wins for our platform.”

“We were very pleased with the quantity and quality of the developers who attended the recent DevCon5 event in New York,” said Tom Shafron, CEO at Viewbiquity (NewsAlert). “TMC does an outstanding job in attracting innovative developers who are eager to use HTML5 and JavaScript to build the next generation of consumer- and business-oriented applications. It made for an engaging, informative and inspiring conference that exceeded our expectations.”

DevCon5 will continue hosting shows throughout the fall. HTML5 Summit, a DevCon5 event collocated with ITEXPO, will be held in Austin, Texas, October 2-5. Sessions include Animating via CSS3, The Future of APIs, Wireless Network Enablers, Design for Mobile First and more. The full agenda is available online and registration is now open. DevCon5 will also return to the West Coast in November. Due to exponential attendance growth, the event location will be held at the South San Francisco Conference Center in San Francisco, California, on November 28-29.

DevCon5 San Francisco is currently accepting Call for Papers. A short list of topics includes animation, browser compatibility, building new business models for mobile web and design. The complete list of speaking topics and speaker requirements is available online.
