When talking about HTML5, the important thing to keep in mind is that it appears that we have not yet breached the limits of what this technology can do. We know some of the ways in which the programming language can help different kinds of companies tailor their product to reach a larger clientele, but there are still massive improvements that can and will be made. Now two companies, Sencha and SAP (News
– Alert), who are well versed in HTML5, are working together to make it that much easier to develop HTML5 applications.
Sencha and SAP have partnered up to make using the Sencha Touch 2 and a new connector. The Sencha Touch 2 is a mobile application framework that makes it easy to construct mobile applications for enterprise platforms in HTML5. Users can now implement the OData Connector from SAP to use the NetWeaver Gateway or the Sybase (News
– Alert) Unwired Platform to make their HTML5 applications that much better and more powerful.
The connector is available for download for anyone who wants to try and find a way to make a better HTML5 application for enterprise level companies. There is also a guide that can be downloaded with the connector that will demonstrate how the connector can be used. Developers will find these new tools essential when they are trying to put together the best kind of applications they can. The guide also comes with a sample application called Flights Unlimited. This particular application connects users to the SAP NetWeaver while using the OData Connector to look up airplane flight times, passenger manifests and various pricing information.
The Flights Unlimited application was built to show just how easy it is to create an app that can either be implemented on the web or designed to be put into one application market or another. Because the application-building database is based on HTML5, it is easy to make those applications to work either for Web-based or any number of other platforms such as iOS.
Want to learn more about HTML5? Then be sure to attend HTML5 Summit- a DEVCON5 Event, collocated with ITEXPO West 2012 taking place Oct. 2-5, in Austin, TX. HTML5 has the potential to revolutionize user interfaces, challenge the status quo and change the future of both desktop and mobile web experiences. Join fellow web developers, designers, and architects, as well as technology leaders and business strategists who will gather in Austin to learn strategies and tactics to implement and execute HTML5.
