Kingston Digital to Offer Certified USB Flash Drive for Windows To Go

Recently, Kingston Digital, the Flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company Inc., announced that it was working with Microsoft (News Alert) to create a Windows To Go-compatible USB Flash drive.

Windows To Go is a fully manageable corporate Windows 8 desktop on a bootable external USB stick. This will enable companies to support the “Bring Your Own PC” trend and give contingent staff access to the corporate environment without having to compromise on security.

Windows 8 Enterprise features include all the capabilities that customers get with Windows 8 Pro plus premium features.

The Kingston DataTraveler Workspace USB Flash drive will be released this October for enterprise environments looking to use Windows To Go to support their mobile workforce and contingent staff for scenarios such as bring your own device and sharing PCs.

The drive is fully bootable and utilizes SSD technology in a small USB form factor, allowing users to access their enterprise system from a portable device.

“Kingston has been working together with Microsoft for over a year in developing a USB Flash drive capable of meeting the requirements of Windows To Go,” said Andrew Ewing, Flash memory business manager, Kingston. “We appreciate the work from Genesys Logic (NewsAlert), Inc., who have helped ensure that the drive is compatible and can boot from the latest systems.”

The company recently sponsored a ticket package giveaway for the two-day Rock the Bells Festival Series 2012 in the United States. Rock the Bells is in its 9th year and it is a two-day, hip hop festival conducted in various cities. It will be held in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York in August and September 2012.
