Adobe Muse HTML5 Tool Updated, Creative Cloud Roadmap Announced

Adobe (NewsAlert) has had a busy week. Not only did it update its Muse HTML5 tool, but also unveiled a new roadmap for its Adobe Creative Cloud.

The Muse HTML5 tool is a fairly new tool by Adobe and allows designers to create websites without having to write any code. The latest upgrade to the tool further augments its capabilities for planning, designing and publishing original HTML pages and includes built-in support for contact forms. Support for built-in contact forms lets users add, configure, and style contact forms within their websites and the update also brings on board new extensive content management capabilities.

Adobe has also added the ability to add and link to downloadable files of any type including .pdf, .zip, .dmg, & .exe, as well as support for HTML5 animations created with Adobe Edge.

Apart from the new features, one will also notice enhanced performance from the Muse HTML5 tool. This is mainly because of the improved HTML5 and CSS3 output and new auto-generated sitemaps for SEO resulting in speedier load times of websites and better visibility on search engines like Google (News Alert).

Apart from releasing an upgrade to Muse, Scott Morris, senior marketing director for Adobe’s digital media business talked about numerous additions to the Creative Cloudsuite, including a new Adobe Edge preview update, an update of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition, new HTML5 innovations, a Dreamweaver update and Adobe Edge will be rebranded as Edge Animate.

Some light was shed on the pricing model as well and previous Creative Suite customers – Creative Suite 3 or later — who want a Creative Cloud membership; they only have until August 31, 2012 to avail the special $29.99 introductory promotion. Post August 31, the regular annual membership will be $49.99 per month.

“Creative Cloud is the focal point for creative expression for creative professionals,” Morris said. “One of the core value propositions for Creative Cloud is you get all this ongoing value.”
