Travelguru Goes Mobile with

These days, travel researches are mostly done from the mobile devices. Keeping with the trend, one of India’s largest hotel booking networks, Travelguru, has launched its mobile website,

This new HTML5-based website has been designed with savvy, on-the-go professionals in mind, as well as those who look for the best deals on last-minute hotel bargains.

It’s not business travelers alone that might need a last-minute hotel booking, however. The number of vacationers in need of last-minute deals is also on the rise. In a news statement, Travelguru explained that the new mobile site is meant for all tech savvy users who spend more time on the handheld devices than desktops and that include both the business travelers and pleasure travelers.

The HTML5 platform is expected to simplify the needs of both types of customers.

The website provides the option to search for hotels as per users’ travel plan, check rates and offers, and receive a callback from its customer support team to close the booking on the phone.

The website also makes it easy to check last-minute deals in travel packages with the option of getting a callback from one of the Gurus.

Since the launch of the website last week, Travelguru has seen an overwhelming response from its customers, with a lot of people sending in queries. The next few months will see even more enhancements to the platform, in addition to extending the scope of the website to cover hotels in areas such as Bangalore, Goa, Mumbai and Delhi.

Going further, the company also plans to introduce native apps for its customers.

“The number of people doing research on their travel plans from their mobile devices has seen a significant jump over the last couple of years. Travelguru recognizes this need of its customers and through this website, has taken a first humble step towards providing a solution,” said Mukesh Goel, the technology head at Travelguru.

A few months ago,, a travel company in India, signed an agreement to acquire a 100-percent stake in Travelguru, a hotel distribution network from Travelocity Global offering access to more than 6,500 hotels in India and 72,000 hotels worldwide. said the acquisition will strengthen its position in the Indian online travel space and substantially help the company extend its position as the premiere aggregator and seller of domestic hotels and holidays in India.
