Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 Get Mobile HTML5 Support from jqMobi

Developers are always looking for the best framework to write applications with speed and without complications. This is easier said than done, especially for mobile devices where coding Web applications will test the patience of the best developer.

The release of Windows 8 meant new opportunities and challenges have been created for developers for this operating system. One of the fastest and lightest frameworks, jqMobi, also released version 1.2, will support Windows 8, Windows Phone (NewsAlert) 8 and IE10.

Most frameworks were developed for desktops and later adapted to mobile devices. Some of the frameworks did fine with some operating systems and platforms, while others were problematic. jqMobi is the first JavaScript framework with the capability of delivering the same user experience with Android (NewsAlert), iOS, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 platforms.

It was specifically designed for mobile devices to be light and fast using HTML5.

The new release supports functionalities that created compatibility issues with other frameworks and IE (Internet Explorer). It gives the developer tools to detect which operating system is running, and it adds a prefix for IE so it can support commands that are specific to IE.

Additionally, it supports fixed headers and footers, JS-based scrolling and CSS3 transitions.

Developers can choose the functionality they need when they are creating application by going to the repository where the jqMobi plugins are housed.

"For HTML5 frameworks like jqMobi, the quality of the browser determines what we can deliver. Microsoft’s (News Alert) IE10 browser delivers really good performance that is competitive with the best browsers we’ve seen on Android and iOS. So that means that developers who want to take advantage of jqMobi to deliver iOS, Android, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 apps can give their users an identically fantastic experience across all four device platforms," said Ian Maffett, jqMobi lead developer."

The size of a framework can create unnecessary weight when applications are being created by developers, and this framework is only 5kb. jqMobid is designed to take advantage of the latest browser features and standards from W3C (NewsAlert), and it has been tested with the fastest library currently available for developers.
