MedHOK is using HTML5 to improve its healthcare management platform by offering offline application support and continuing local storage, the company said.
"In building upon the HTML5 platform, MedHOK joins other online innovators like Amazon in reshaping the Web experience for our clients by creating online applications with the speed, security, performance and vibrancy of desktop applications," Anil Kottoor, president and CEO, MedHOK, said in a statement carried by TMCnet. "The flexibility and adaptability of HTML5 ensures that, regardless of connectivity, device or browser, our clients have access to the real-time, actionable data and advanced analytics they need to improve quality and care coordination and enhance regulatory compliance."
MedHOK, which was named a finalist for 2011 Tampa Bay Technology Forum (TBTF) Emerging Technology Company of the Year, boasts a platform that targets health plans, pharmacy benefit managers and accountable care organizations, the company said.
It can be used for federal and state regulation compliance, improving care management, identifying care gaps for the chronically ill, and improving quality scores.
“MedHOK is dedicated to leveraging the latest in on- and offline technologies to provide the healthcare industry with the tools needed to improve care quality, access and costs," Kottoor added. "As new technologies emerge that enhance user’s online experience, our team is dedicated to incorporating them into our already innovative solution to enhance flexibility and keep clients connected with the richly detailed information they need via any device at any time and from any place."
The company also recently announced the appointment of Maryalice Anderson, a registered nurse, as vice president of clinical solutions. Anderson will work with MedHOK’s product, technology and compliance/government affairs employees.
She will also provide clinical oversight in the design of MedHOK’s proprietary software products, the company said in a statement.
