UpSync has upgraded its Intelligently Integrated Selling platform with support for HTML5.
Administrators can upload HTML5 apps alongside other multimedia content audio, video and documents, allowing Frontline users access to all of their sales and marketing content from their mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.
“The challenge for organizations has been inconsistent means of distributing HTML5 content,” said UpSync’s director of Product Development, Matt Vander Vliet. “With this new capability, UpSync essentially becomes the enterprise’s own app store, allowing organizations to distribute these apps and all other content easily.”
UpSync users can easily upload HTML5 apps they way they would other files, such as images, without the need to go through the IT department to get their files hosted on a central server. Businesses can automatically capture data on both employees and customers.
“Best-in-class B2B marketers and sales organizations are striving for richer, more interactive customer engagement,” said senior vice president of sales, Severan Johnson. “UpSync is designed to make it simple to deploy the kind of content that supports that goal.”
HTML5 is a new version of the HTML standard driving the Web. It will replace the last version of HTML, version 4.01, released in 1999, well before the rise of social media services and when websites were considered static documents instead of applications.
The draft standard, which a number of websites already implement, include features to make Web applications behave more like traditional applications, such as audio, video and animation and the ability to store data on users’ devices.
It is considered especially important on mobile devices, where both Apple’s iOS and Google Android do not support Adobe’s (News – Alert) Flash software for displaying video and other multimedia content.
UpSync made complimentary use of its sharing facilities and even gave away Apple (News
– Alert) TVs at Dreamforce 2012 in San Francisco in September.
