When it comes to assembling a great browser, most people want that browser to cruise right along at impressive speeds. Chrome 27 beta has just been released and it’s fairly obvious that Google (News
– Alert) has decided that it wants to make speed something it focuses quite a bit on in the very first build.
The company has quite a bit of competition when it comes to trying to get people to use its browser, and because of this, tweaks to the platform are coming faster than they ever came before.
The ink isn’t yet dry on the release notes for Chrome 26, and Google is already letting people take Chrome 27 for a spin. The beta is far from a finished product but there are still several improvements to be had from the latest build.
The firm says the boost has equaled about 5 percent across the board as far as a speed boost goes.
This seems to be a direct reaction to the changes Firefox made that had its browser going a bit faster than any of the other ones out there. Google knows Firefox might be a far more staunch competitor when it comes to getting users for their browser than even Microsoft (News
– Alert).
Speed isn’t the only thing that Google focused on when it changes the latest settings in its Chrome 27 beta. There is also a much more simpler interface that has to do with its date and time forms on HTML5 pages.
There’s a whole host of other updates as well, reportedly geared toward making sure developers have all the tools they want in their toolbelt.
Chrome 27 will likely have additional changes once it’s ready to hit the market and go live.
