Moovweb, a provider of advanced solutions that transform the web development process to achieve enhanced business agility, is offering a new challenge to the web developers and designers, under which they’ll have to design a version of GitHub.com that is compatible with mobile devices.
Titled ‘Moovweb Mobile Remix Hackathon,’ the competition will require all the participating developers to create the user profile page and project repository page of the website through the Moovweb experience platform. Competing entries will be judged on the basis of a number of factors, such as visual design, user experience, functionality, completeness and amazement.
Leveraging its cloud-based platform, the company enables developers, design agencies and systems integrators to create cutting edge mobile sites and native apps through a collection of powerful tools in relatively less time. Around 12 billion mobile pages corresponding to the websites of a large number of brands such as Macy’s, 1-800-FLOWERS.com, Sur la Table, Golfsmith, Vitacost, Kroger and Accenture (News

Now the company is going to organize a virtual hackathon, under which the participants will have to deploy the Moovweb SDK, a free toolset for the developers, to design a mobile web version of GitHub.com website.
“I’m really excited to see the creativity people will unleash during this contest,” commented Hampton Catlin, vice president, Technology at Moovweb. “For the first time in the history of the Web, we have a tool that allows us to realize the dream of CSS (News – Alert) ZenGarden but on live, actual sites.”
Winner of the competition will win either a fully paid three-day trip for two to San Francisco or cash value equivalent of $3,000.00 and a GoPro (News – Alert) Camera. A cash prize worth $500 will be awarded to each of the four runners up.
In March 2013, Moovweb announced that it will be the mobile technology supplier for the Mobile Commerce World conference website, the only event for business and technology executives to learn about the practice of mobile commerce and how to develop mobile strategies. Mobile Commerce World is going to be held June 24-26, 2013 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, CA (News – Alert).
