Cosentry is a provider of advanced class computing solutions, data center infrastructure and managed technical services in the Midwest. By partnering with AppShark, it will be able to offer its customers the tools they need to get their mobile enabled applications into the cloud seamlessly with a single solution. AppShark will provide the technology for upgrading legacy applications, add HTML5 and cloud hosting solutions needed when implementing bring your on device (BYOD) policies.
AppShark creates, manages, supports and accelerates custom software solutions for startups and software providers. It also has partnerships with Microsoft (News
– Alert) and SalesForce for providing all major mobile platform providers with consulting, customization, development, implementation, integration, migration, managed services and training. The expertise it brings to the field will give Cosentry proven tools for providing cloud and mobile enabled applications with secure access to data from anywhere and on any device for BYOD applications.
"BYOD is a top priority for many of our customers and we are excited to start offering an effective solution that meets their needs quickly. This closes the gap in services that facilitate cloud deployment and mobility," said Manny Quevedo, vice president of development at Cosentry, in a statement.
Earlier this year Cosentry released Ion Cloud Services, which allowed its customers to automatically provision personal virtual private data centers online. It automatically provisions enterprise-class secure, virtual private data centers with the company’s Vblock supported infrastructure as well.
Companies around the world are increasingly adopting BYOD policies to engage their workforce so they can be more productive, while saving money by reducing IT investments. Although the adoption of BYOD is welcomed by more than 50 percent of employees and employers alike, security issues are impeding full adoption. A survey released by Ovum (News – Alert) points to some of the problems employers will face, while stating the full adoption of BYOD is an eventuality no one can escape.
"Our mutual customers are looking to reduce the time and resources needed to upgrade existing applications to current standards and move their infrastructure to the cloud. Our partnership offers customers the convenience and value of a one-stop shop for solutions that achieve critical IT goals," said Jack Pereira, AppShark managing director Americas.
