DevCon5 Smashes Pre-Registration Numbers

HTML5 & mobile app developer’s conference assembles premier thinkers and speakers July 24-25 in New York

Norwalk, Conn. – July 11, 2013 – TMC (NewsAlert) and Crossfire Media today announced that pre-conference registrations have reached record numbers for DevCon5, which is being held July 24-25, 2013, at the Kimmel Center at New York University. DevCon5 is dedicated to providing the information needed to implement and succeed at HTML5 for the industry’s leading application creators and developers, graphic designers, Web and UI artists, enterprise architects, information technologists, system managers and more.

“We are thrilled with the interest and excitement DevCon5 has generated, and the attendee registration numbers for the July event are already up by 300 percent over the same period last year,” said Rich Tehrani (NewsAlert), CEO of TMC. “The speakers, exhibitors and sponsors participating in DevCon5 have really raised the bar, and we look forward to seeing them in action later this month.”

DevCon5’s robust conference agenda spans three tracks: Back to Basics, Advanced HTML5 and Mobile Development, with in-depth sessions providing attendees with the information and tools they need to exploit the capabilities of revolutionary HTML5 technology. Luncheon keynote sessions include presentations from Richard Balsewich, senior enterprise developer for BlackBerry, and Prakash Sinha, vice president of application delivery for Radware.

Additional conference sessions include:

  • Transitioning Your Video: Is it Really HTML5 vs. Flash
  • CSS3 Animation
  • How Fast is Your Web Site?

On Tuesday, July 23, BlackBerry will present a hands-on coding pre-conference workshop to support app building capabilities for developers and designers titled “BlackBerry Jam Starter.” The workshop will take attendees through the basic principles of building a Blackberry app, with an overview of what they can expect throughout the process. After the session, attendees will have the opportunity to start building their own BlackBerry apps with support from BlackBerry experts and evangelists who will be on hand to answer any questions. BlackBerry will also host a series of mini-lessons throughout the day to introduce attendees to some of the deeper concepts of BlackBerry development.

DevCon5 is supported by Diamond Sponsors Basho and Blackberry; Platinum Sponsors Kony and Radware; Gold Sponsors Aol Networks and Dreamfactory; and Silver Sponsor Xtreme Labs.
