just.me, a company founded by Keith Teare in 2011, has announced that its smartphone friendly app, just.me, is now available for Android (News – Alert) version 1.0, supporting “Ice Cream Sandwich” or above, iOS.
just.me allows users to send text, photos, voice and video, allowing recipients to comment and ‘like’ the media, or reply with their own text, photos, video and audio. This user friendly app is simple, free and unlimited. Anybody with either a phone number or an email address can receive a message from a just.me user.
The company has also announced enhancements to its iOS and HTML5 versions. The enhanced version of HTML5 now supports the Firefox OS and other rich HTML5 browsers.
“Since our just.me launch in April, we have been very closely observing and measuring how our global user base has used just.me – and have been astounded at how the app has resonated”, stated Keith Teare, just.me founder and CEO. “We understand that there is always room for improvement, so we listened to feedback and believe that these enhancements will deepen the passion, usage and engagement to help make just.me a must-have app.”
just.me users can now communicate across platforms and through the web in an unlimited fashion sharing their media with as many or as few people as they decide. The latest version 1.1 for iOS also includes a redesigned welcome and registration process, making it easier for users to follow simple steps to register. The company has also reformed the dashboard for user contacts, which helps to conduct quick and easy communication through just.me.
Vinod Khosla, general partner at Khosla Ventures, said, “The smartphone messaging market is at the beginning of its life. Apps like WhatsApp and LINE represent just a moment in that evolution. just.me is envisaging what comes next. Today’s triple release on iOS, Android and HTML5 is a very impressive effort from a highly focused and motivated team.”
Since its launch in 2011, just.me has seen over 5 million screen views, driven by over 140,000 iOS users. This app can run on Android phones, small tablets or full sized tablets.
Teare conclude saying, “just.me is growing and engaging with great retention. With the release of Android and enhanced HTML5 and iOS versions today, we now believe just.me will also be viral.”
