When it comes to HTML5, there are a number of different companies gearing up to release applications that can be used on all different kinds of mobile devices. While there are many different categories of applications that are being built in HTML5, it seems as if gaming is the most popular vertical when it comes to this particular programming language. Novel Games, a developer of licensable games, recently rolled out a solution that offers about 30 different games in the HTML5 format.
In addition, Novel Games is working to port more than 350 games that are part of the company’s stable into HMTL5. This particular project is on schedule to be completed by the end of 2013. There is very little doubt that HTML5 has become one of the most popular formats for online and mobile gaming over the last few years. With the massive number of smartphones and tablets hitting the market over the last few years, it just makes sense to be producing games that work on Android (News – Alert), iOS and Windows.
Peter Lee, CEO of Novel Games, talked about the importance of HTML5 when it comes to the mobile formats in a recent statement.
"For many years, Flash has been one of the most popular formats of web games. However, it could only run in Android devices in the past and is now no longer supported," Lee said."On the other hand, HTML5 is designed to enable multimedia and rich graphical presentations. It can run in all major web browsers including those in mobile devices, and in this way, HTML5 has successfully overcome the mobility limitation of Flash."
Novel Games feels that the launch of HTML5 game licensing is one of the most significant events in the history of the company.
