ComiXology Intros HTML5 Upgrade for Retailer Digital Storefront Program


As the trend of reading content in digital format via e-book readers and tablets increases across the globe, content developers are coming up with innovative strategies to capture maximum reader base with the help of their technological offerings.

ComiXology, which provides a cloud-based digital comics platform that enables seamless comics discovering, buying and reading online, as introduced the HTML5 upgrade to its Retailer Digital Storefront program. This program was initiated in 2011 and makes it possible for printed comic book sellers to make a profit using the platform.

The New York-based company has developed a Guided View reading technology that dramatically enhances the comic book medium to turn it into a much more engaging experience, which has made comiXology one of the top grossing iPad applications at iTunes in both 2011 and 2012. It provides a huge collection of comic book titles from 75 well known publishers comprising of some independent creators too.

With the launch of advanced HTML5 compliant Retailer Digital Storefronts, avid comic book readers will be able to use their mobile devices and PCs for buying digital comics from the comic stores of their choice, right through comiXology platform. Comic fans will also be able to subscribe to their favorite titles.
