Hexagon Game Labs to Unveil SteamPower1830 HTML5 Game Closed Beta

Hexagon Game Labs is working on releasing the HTML5 game “SteamPower1830” in a closed beta version on October 10. SteamPower1830 is a free-to-play, multiplatform online game enables players to build and raise cities, establish trade and manage their growing steam fleet in a world of railway commerce. This game also allows two players to even collaborate on the same scenario with a built-in chat feature.

The game that allows players to build up their own railroad empires, combining elements of strategy, simulation and city building games, will now be rolled out with new features on the cross-platform. With this, the HTML5-based Ubique Game Engine lets gaming sessions to switch seamlessly between PCs, tablets and smartphones.

The company will initially offer the closed beta version in English and German. The unveiled version will include single-player mode with 15 maps covering various European countries.

Peter Cukierski, chief game officer and co-founder of Hexagon Game Labs, is excited about the closed beta launch. He said, “Over the past few months, we have developed a game based on HTML5 that clearly indicates where cross-platform gaming is headed. We are brimming with anticipation as SteamPower1830 is about to set out on its ‘maiden voyage’. Even the closed beta version will show gamers what an online game should feel like in the year 2013. To fully optimize SteamPower1830 for cross-platform functionality, we now depend on the feedback we receive from our test players.”The company enabled the closed beta registration on Initial access will be given in chronological order according to the time of registration – with the exception of beta key owners, who can immediately start playing the game.

Active players of the beta version will be get the powerful “Goliath” steam locomotive. The company even thanked its closed beta testers, who have reached Level 20 and received the “Goliath” steam locomotive as a permanently enabled feature on their account.
