HTML5, the latest Web technology platform, has become the standard to power cross-platform applications. Many features of HTML5 have been built with the consideration of being able to run on different types of platforms and devices.
A key feature of the HTML5 platform is the multimedia elements such as audio, video and canvas. It also integrates scalable vector graphics (SVG) that replaces object tags and mathematical formulas.
Solutions providers are keen to leverage these capabilities of HTML5 to power their applications.
SplendidCRM Software, a provider of Microsoft (News
– Alert)-centric Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions, has unveiled the latest version of its software with enhanced HTML5 capabilities.
Version 8.0 of SplendidCRM Software is now enhanced with bi-directional real-time communications capabilities powered by HTML5 WebSocket protocol.
The new WebSocket feature of the HTML5 standard has the greatest potential to change the way applications are written, said Paul Rony, president of SplendidCRM Software.
Additionally, the new capabilities such as ASP.NET (News
– Alert) SignalR library from Microsoft allow customers to establish a bi-directional real-time communications between server and browser. Customers can receive instant test message notifications in the browser via integration with the Twilio (News – Alert) SMS messaging service.
The enhancements are part of the company’s strategy to leverage advanced HTML5 capabilities to power its CRM platform. As the first attempt to support HTML5, SplendidCRM Software started adding HTML5 features several years ago with a charting module that leverages the new graphics features of the HTML5 standard.
Later, the software was enhanced with an HTML5 Offline Client that uses the new local storage features, an HTML5-based Calendar replacement, followed by various drag-and-drop admin enhancements.
SplendidCRM is offered in two versions: Professional and Enterprise Edition. Customers can also setup Twitter (News – Alert) tracking to monitor or archive tweets as well as display them on the home page in real-time. Another new feature is the Survey module that allows CRM users to survey customers and track the results. Surveys can include the typical types of questions such as single-choice, multiple-choice, rating, ranking and textboxes.
Enterprise customers can take surveys even further by generating workflows around the survey responses.
SplendidCRM 8.0 has also been integrated with PayTrace allowing customers to take advantage of the lower Level II and Level III credit card transaction rates. Level III processing is achieved by including line item data in the transaction, the company said.
