Gizmox Launches Visual WebGui Version 7

Gizmox continues to provide an HTML5 platform for UI business applications. It has two key components: VisualWebGUI, a web and mobile HTML5 framework for enterprise apps, and InstantCloudMove, which upgrades systems from client-server to HTML5 in the cloud.

In a recent move, Gizmox launched Visual WebGui Version 7. Visual WebGui lets developers using Microsoft’s (News Alert) Visual Studio to make HTML5 apps using C# (a built-in language) – as well as visual designers.

Version 7 also has new mobile features, a tool to analyze desktop apps and integrates with Visual Studio 2013, according to a news report. Specifically, the assessment tool analyzes “legacy client-server code (e.g. VB6) and provides benchmarks comparing the complexity of re-writing to reusing code by automating the move to C# and HTML5 with Gizmox Transposition,” according to a company statement.

“The mobile features available in Visual WebGui (NewsAlert) 7 along with Visual Studio 2013 integration make an exciting combination for development teams creating and deploying data-driven business applications with native-quality user experiences,” Itzik Spitzen, Gizmox’s CTO, said in a statement.

In addition, Version 7 offers a business server that provides “scalability, performance and security” for enterprise-class applications, the company said. Among the new features are: PhoneGap device integration, offline support for disconnects and design for different mobile form factors with no coding. Gizmox customers include banks, government offices and insurance companies.

Microsoft is pleased with the latest version. “Partners like Gizmox build great development tools that help Visual Studio developers further leverage the skills they already have,” Mitra Azizirad, general manager, Developer Tools Marketing and Sales, at Microsoft, said in a statement. “Integrated with Visual Studio 2013, Gizmox’s Visual WebGui gives Visual Studio developers a high-quality option for creating enterprise-ready web and mobile apps with complex business logic.”

Earlier this year, Gizmox closed a $7.5 million investment round. The round was led by Atlas Venture. Other investors include Citrix, Consolidated Investment Group, Maayan Ventures and individuals. Jeff Fagnan and Christopher Lynch of Atlas Venture will join the Gizmox Board of Directors. The company also named a new CEO, Eugene Kuznetsov. Navot Peled was named president. They are making sales and marketing efforts a priority.
