X2O Media, a provider of visual communications software, recently demonstrated its HTML5-based digital signage platform, remote video experts and social media at a trade-event in Las Vegas.
With the newest X2O platform, creating and publishing rich media content channels on all screen types, including video walls of any size or resolution, are expected to become easier.
This authoring app has been built using HTML5 standard and features intuitive drag-and-drop tools. According to company officials, the tools enable users to create media-rich channels from HD video, still images, 3D animations, PowerPoint slides, and more.
Additionally, this open platform features the simplified linking to internal and external data sources, as a result it has become easy to incorporate data-driven graphics linked to corporate databases, including SAP (News
– Alert) and Oracle, Excel spreadsheets, or RSS feeds, company officials said.
Meanwhile, the cloud-based X2O Channel Designer is expected to provide the content managers an easy access to the software anywhere, anytime via a Web browser. Plus, the X2O player of the platform, which supports the HTML5, plays out real time content on multiple screens, including digital signage displays, video walls, tablets and mobile phones.
The X2O platform can be integrated with the third-party media players, including Cisco (News
– Alert) IEC 4600 Series player, the Exceptional 3D media player, and more, company officials said.
The company is touting its X2O Remote Video Expert application as ideal for improving customer experience in retail, banking, and healthcare settings. David Wilkins, president and CEO at X2O Media, said that the X2O Remote Video Expert application allows “retail stores, healthcare facilities, and more to optimize engagement through a live connection with the end-user.”
This app allows instant video conferencing between customers and specialized customer service agents, which is directly from the interactive displays. Company officials said this is possible thanks to the integration between the X2O platform and industry-standard video conferencing systems and software.
With the X2O Remote Video Expert, customers can directly contact a customer service agent from the product aisle. Also, customer service agents can share files, product specifications, and their desktops in real time.
Moreover, using the X2O platform, users can harness the power of social media by displaying user-generated content from Twitter (News – Alert), YouTube, and Facebook.
Company officials said that the SharePoint TV on the X2O visual communications platform enables users to create TV-like channels based on content in the Microsoft (News
– Alert) SharePoint enterprise collaboration platform. Automatically, these channels can be put on all screens across an organization, from digital displays to mobile devices and desktops.
And, using the X2O platform’s drag-and-drop authoring tools, users can pick from a library of smart objects, specifically designed to work with SharePoint applications, such as company news and announcements, team calendars, task lists, document browsing, and dashboards.
This year in January, the company said that the readers of Sound & Video Contractor (SVC) selected the X2O Remote Video Expert interactive video call app as one of the magazine’s 2013 Most Innovative Products.
