Libon App Upgrade Compatible with HTML5 Devices

French telecommunications company Orange (NewsAlert) is the creator and developer of the Libon app, which is a joyn-compatible communications platform that can be used for chat. In addition to standard text chat communications, users can also share audio and photos with anyone on their contacts list, so long as they have a compatible device. That list of compatible devices has just grown much larger, because now Libon’s compatibility has extended to any device with an HTML5 browser.

For users of the Libon app, sharing information and opening a chat session is incredibly easy. Libon works as a one-way transmitter if needed, which means that contacts do not need to have the Libon app installed, and are not even required to have a messaging service installed on their device. HTML5 browsers exist on virtually all PCs, smartphones and tablets, so the instant messages sent by Libon can reach almost anyone.

Libon also works as a platform for making VoIP calls. For calls made to other users of the Libon app, users can make unlimited free calls through mobile VoIP. Upgrading to the premium version allows users to make unlimited calls to landline and other mobile numbers as well, in over 40 different countries. The service also includes a smart visual voicemail, and is currently available on iOS devices. A version for Android (NewsAlert) is due to be released in just a few weeks.

Like WhatsApp, which was recently purchased by Facebook (NewsAlert) for $19 billion, Libon is part of a movement that is revolutionizing the mobile market. Both apps make it much easier for users to communicate with one another for free, even across International borders. These products also directly compete with traditional cellular calls and text messaging, which means that they will be prompting the rest of the telecom industry to either keep up and follow their lead, or drop out of the industry.
