Zoho Assist Platform Stays Relevant with HTML5

While there aren’t that many companies that can go toe-to-toe with Google (News Alert) Docs, Zoho is still giving it the old college try. Thanks in large part to the way the company has used HTML5 coding, Zoho (NewsAlert) has managed to stay relevant in the cloud-based business world. One way the firm has managed to stay alive is by constantly tweaking its offerings such as the latest upgrades to its remote support software.

The Zoho Assist platform is the company’s remote monitoring and management software, and it now includes a revamped file transfer window and an new technician console that uses HTML5. This console has a “help me” tab that can be used in Linux and Mac in order to get live support.

"We now have completely rewritten software, a few more servers and have achieved maximum session speed. IT support technicians [around the world] rely on the speed of remote support software to achieve quick resolution. That's why we now bring you increased screen refresh rates," Zoho representatives wrote in a recent blog post.

Zoho has been steadily working on online additions to its offerings for both specific groups such as IT professionals, as well as for the everyday consumer. One step in the improvement process has been for Zoho to offer up hosted e-mail upgrades.

Zoho Assist is designed for independent IT technicians as well as outsourced IT firms, remote PC repair service professionals and small and medium sized businesses (SMBs). The Zoho Assist platform is web based software that allows users to provide assistance across Linux, Mac and Windows platforms. In addition to the upgrade, the company also launched a new mobile application for the iPad.

That application allows people to ask IT pros for assistance, capture screenshots of a remote computer, switch between multiple monitors and take control of a remote computer. Zoho Assist is offered up as a 30-day free trial and is now available for download.
