AppCarousel, a provider of app store solutions and content ecosystem services, recently announced a partnership agreement with TVersity, a provider in media streaming solutions for Multichannel Video Programming Distributors. According to the terms of the agreement, AppCarousel will deliver an HTML5 app platform via the cloud for set-top boxes and smart TVs.
With HTML5's robust capabilities and cross platform flexibility, it is rapidly becoming the preferred development environment for mobile apps and services. The solution will help TVersity in streamlining developer programs and app stores management. Additionally, it will help Multiple Systems Operators (MSOs) and smart TV vendors cut down set-top box costs as well as the need for additional hardware.

In related news, Satkirit, a smartphone manufacturer, recently selected AppCarousel Inc., to create and operate a range of app store services for Satkirit's Android (News – Alert)-based phones. Satkirit will launch the smartphones under its Luvo brand in Indonesia before extending into other markets. By partnering with AppCarousel, Satkirit will deliver its mission to provide local App developers with a hyperlocal platform to showcase locally relevant solutions that are specifically focused on addressing unmet needs.
