Aquafadas Offers Publishers the Ability to Create HTML5 WebReader Content

As virtually every magazine, newspaper and other publication continues to migrate to digital platforms, companies that deliver content must do so in a platform that can be accessed by everyone without compatibility issues. With the Web browser becoming the preferred method of delivering content, organizations are avoiding applications that require propriety technology and instead are opting for open source solutions everyone can use on any compatible browser. Aquafadas, developer of digital publishing solutions, is providing an alternative to flash with a new solution that allows publishers to create HTML5 WebReader content.

Using HTML5 WebReader, publishers can increase the visibility of their content by eliminating the need to have flash; additionally the new version supports previous Flash WebReader giving users 100 percent web compatibility with all browsers, including mobile.

Mobile support is extremely important because more consumers are migrating to this platform to access online content. With mobile traffic rising by 81 percent in 2013, more businesses are making their online presence ‘mobile first.’ This has led developers to make the solution they design for mobile to be as nimble as possible without having to use propriety applications. With HTML 5, developers can embed a wide range of content more efficiently without having to worry about compatibility issues.

The HTML5 WebReader gives publishers a wide array of outlets whether they are on Windows PCs, mobile devices, Mac desktop systems and any other device as long as they have a Web browser. Publications can be exported using the Aquafadas InDesign plugin and embedded on a website to distribute content more easily to every platform in multiple formats, including ePUB files for eReaders, AVE files for creating native tablet and smartphone apps and now, HTML5 WebReader for browsers.

“By providing an HTML5 WebReader to publishers, we are not only giving access to the most powerful and highly compatible web technology,” explains Claudia Zimmer, Aquafadas CEO. “We provide a complete digital system that lets you distribute to each platform in the best format: native apps for iOS, Android (NewsAlert) and Amazon; HTML5 WebReader for browsers and new challenging platforms such as Windows Mobile, Linux; and Flash for former WebReader versions. Because publishers just have to create once to publish everywhere, they are saving time and money, while providing the best reading experience.”

The Aquafadas Digital Publishing System ecosystem has applications that include InDesign Authoring, Cloud Authoring, ComicComposer, Aquafadas Viewer, AppFactory, Cloud Connect and MotionComposer. They can be used to design and manage any digital publishing scenario beginning with content and creation and ending with distribution and marketing. Publishers can use these solutions to design custom applications without having to write a single line of code for iOS and Android so they can be distributed across tablets, smartphones, eReaders and the web.
