Infragistics Indigo Studio, which is the company’s interactive prototyping tool that can generate standards-based HTML5 and JavaScript, has been incorporated into its new product, Infragistics Ultimate 14.2. This continues to deliver on the promise of helping developers build Microsoft (News
– Alert) Office-inspired, touch-enabled, high-performance business apps.
Infragistics is a global software company, which was founded in 1989. It publishes user interface (UI) development tools, as well as components for a range of developer applications, across all platforms. The company is also a provider of developer support, testing tools and UI and User Experience (UX) training and consulting services.
Jason Beres, Infragistics’ senior vice president of developer tools, had the following to say about the launch of Infragistics Ultimate 14.2, "Our customers drive our roadmaps and this release further delivers on innovations driven by customer demand across all major toolsets. Great apps happen by design, whether you are building Web, mobile or desktop apps and this starts with Indigo Studio, our interactive prototyping tool. What makes it really awesome is that Indigo Studio can generate standards-based HTML5 and JavaScript with our Ignite UI controls, which can be further refined by our newly released WYSIWYG Page Designer for the Web. And if you are building rich client Windows Forms or XAML apps, use one of our best-practices pre-built Office-inspired templates to kick-start your next project. Our goal is to minimize the start-up for your great app with 14.2."
Due to a recent partnership with cross-platform specialist Xamarin Inc., developers can now use the new Infragistics Ultimate 14.2 release to target iOS, Android and Windows Phone (News – Alert) with one shared code base written in C# and XAML. These new capabilities are available through a new solution offering, Infragistics Xamarin.Forms.
Infragistics listed the following features in Infragistics Xamarin.Forms:
- Interactive charting, including common series like category, stacked, polar, radial and scatter, with trend lines, financial indicators, interactions and animations
- Additional business data visualizations like pie charts, gauges and bullet graphs
- Fully virtualized, data-bound, high-performance data grid with pin-able columns, carousel views, selection events and customizable layouts
As Jason Beres mentioned, other items that can be considered as firsts in Infragistics Ultimate 14.2 include a Web-based Page Designer with controls for HTML5 and jQuery to create modern line-of-business Web apps. In addition, there are new controls for charting and data visualization, which are useful in the creation of enterprise applications with Windows Forms. In Ignite and ASP.NET (News
– Alert) tooling functions have also be added.
There seem to be many enhancements to the new version of Infragistics Ultimate 14.2. According to Infragistics, code samples are available online for Ultimate 14.2, which costs $1,995 per developer and is available for a free trial.
