Google (News
– Alert) Inc. held its eighth annual I/O Conference in May of this year in California. The conference was geared toward developers—“the creative coders…of what’s next”. Each year, the conference discusses the latest in technology, mobile, and beyond.
Developers were invited from 90 countries around the world, either in person or virtually, to experience the whole Google conference through inspirational speeches, hands-on learning, and a chance to hear more about Google’s latest developer products. The conference was attended, in person, by 6,000 developers.
Sundar Pichai, Google’s senior vice president of products, opened the keynote speech and got the audience excited for the new developments.
What is a Google Android (News – Alert)? It is “a Linux-based mobile phone operating system developed by Google,” states Marziah Karch, author of the article, “What Is Google Android?”
Google is constantly improving the apps for this device and the company was proud to introduce the newest to the developers at the conference.
The biggest development is the Android M version release. This forthcoming version has updated a lot of new and user-friendly features. The M release is still in development, but it will be released in this year. David Burke, vice president of engineering shared that Google is excited for what is to come. This version has been updated from the Lollipop version, which brought some visual improvements. The M release brings stability and usability improvements.
One of the features that were updated with the Android M version is Android Pay. Wherever you see “Android Pay” logo in stores you can pay using your device. Android Pay focuses on Simplicity, Security, and Choice. The process of payment is simple because all you have to do is unlock your phone, place it in front of the credit card terminal and the transaction is complete. It’s secure because when you add a credit card to the feature you create a virtual account number, which is separate from your actual credit card account number so that number isn’t shared at the time of the transaction. Android Pay works at over 700 stores including Best Buy (News – Alert), Macys, and McDonald’s just to name a few.
This new improvement to the M version is sure to make life for the Google Android users much more convenient and secure. This will allow their productivity to increase. By doing this, the user will recommend the device to others which is what makes the Google Android so popular.
